Now they will come to the BIMHUIS for a concert with named jazz performers from the Netherlands: guitarist Jesse van Ruller, bass clarinettist Joris Roelofs and bassist Thomas Pol. Nick Mancini made name in the open-minded L.A. music scene as band leader and sideman of, among others, pop diva Solange, jazz heroes Arturo Sandoval and Kenny Werner and rising stars Kamasi Washington, Ben Wendel and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. He’s also active as producer, tutor and organizer. For the past couple of years Dutch drummer Kevin van den Elzen has been active in Los Angeles, where he collaborated with, among others, Peter Erskine and Larry Carlton. He became known as the leader of the Dutch Concert Big Band, which specializes in music by Dutch jazz composers from the 1960s and 70s.
